As summer draws to a close and we approach what is probably the most exciting time of year for knitters, when new yarns and designs start to appear in the shops, here is a flavour of “ what’s new “ from DY.
Debbie Bliss - There are two superb new yarns from Debbie Bliss, both supported with individual pattern books.
Winter Garden is a chunky weight yarn made from a luxurious blend of merino wool, baby llama, linen and silk. Classic, feminine Debbie Bliss designs make this a must have addition to ones winter wardrobe.
Blue Faced Leicester is a 100% British yarn in every sense. An aran weight, spun in Yorkshire, using wool from the noble British Blue Faced Leicester breed of sheep, with designs from one of the best known British designers, BFL as it is fondly known by us all at DY, is truly unique. Nowadays when many of the goods we all come across in our everyday life have travelled thousands of miles to get to us, it is great to be involved with a yarn that can be described as truly “ local “ in every sense.
Angel Prints – are a new addition to the incredibly successful Angel family. There are now 12 gorgeous print shades available in this luxurious fine kid mohair / silk yarn.
Noro - For the first time, we have introduced three new Noro yarn simultaneously this autumn, because they are all great and each one so different, that we couldn’t decide which one to leave out. Haniwa, Kirara and Mossa each offer something for all Noro fans and are supported by a superb new book called Noro Passion from Jane Ellison.
Louisa Harding - never disappoints with her eye for “ different “ new yarns combined with the ability to add her own feminine, catwalk twist. Amitola and Orielle are no exception. Uniquely different. Uniquely Louisa. There is a booklet for each of these new yarns.
Araucania - There are two new yarns from Araucania this season, both made from 100% natural fibres. Maipo is a bulky but light weight chunky yarn in 100% wool and Puelo is a luxurious DK made from 100% baby llama. There are new booklets for each of the new yarns plus ones in support of Ranco, Tepa and Botany Lace.
Mirasol - sees the introduction of Api, a blend of alpaca and Peruvian highland wool with a distinctive “ flame “ effect. Hasa is a blend of alpaca and merino wool with a bourette silk slub. There is a new book from Jane Ellison to support these superb new yarns.
